Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when you create an account. We also collect location data while you are actively using Kompete's tracking and racing features. Location data is used solely to power the app's core functionality and is not sold to third parties.
2. Health & fitness data
With your permission, Kompete may read heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, and sleep duration from Apple Health or Health Connect. We use these readings only to personalise your own training load, recovery, and session insights inside Kompete. We do not sell this data, do not share it with other users or friends, and do not use it for advertising. You can revoke access at any time in system settings; deleting your account also deletes stored daily health summaries from our servers.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the app; to personalise your experience; to send you activity summaries and race results; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
4. Data storage & security
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud) infrastructure. We apply industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Health summaries (when you have granted access) are stored under your account only and are not readable by other users. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen.
5. Third-party services
Kompete uses Firebase (authentication, database, analytics, crashlytics), Google Maps (route display), and Cloudinary (profile photos). Health readings come from Apple Health or Health Connect on your device — we do not send raw heart-rate series to third-party AI or advertising services. Each third party has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data required for these services to function.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, use the in-app account deletion feature, the account deletion page, or contact us at privacy@kompete.app. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's privacy
Kompete is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
